New beginnings, the death of my car and Gelato...
Life is crazy sometimes isn't it?
I've moved from Christchurch to the Bay of Plenty to continue on with my freelancing dream for the next wee while. I felt there were more opportunities for me with my writing up here and thought that I'd just jump ship and see how I like it up here.
So far its been fantastic, lots of sunny weather and this change of scenery has been great and has done wonders for my writing. It's actually true - a change is as good as a holiday.
About a week before the start of my new life, the unimaginable happened, my trusty Mazda broke down and found out shortly later that it was not able to be fixed. Something about the water pump that ended up cooking my motor. I was not impressed! Being without a car is horrible and not being able to go anywhere that you want is even worse. So i'm on the lookout for a new car. Any ideas slynkey girls? I've had a look at a few but nothing has taken my fancy just yet. Until I find one i'll have to be content with walking, busing and borrowing friends' cars.
Today I spent the day at Mount Maunganui and had a great day. Walking past a gelato parlour I couldn't help myself! I should really let you into a secret slynkey girls I was in Italy with my bestie Simon in September late last year, had a fantastic time and ate a lot of GELATO.
I think on average we had two or three a day for the two weeks we were there- we wanted to try every flavor imaginable. I was so glad I didn't go up a dress size while over there because I really did over-indulge. Flavours we had were Chocolate, Melon, Mango, Aloe, strawberry, Hokey Pokey, Pistachio, Tiramisu, Creme Brulee and Cherry (there were more flavours we had but I thought i'd limit it to the ones we loved the most). The Gelato I had today was good but no where near as great as the ones in Italy. I'll have to tell Simon that we need to go back sometime in the not too distant future because as I type I'm having real Italian gelato cravings.
I'll keep you up to date with all of my adventures up here in the North Island and will be back in Christchurch on the odd weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing all you lovely ladies at the slynkey parties this year.

Just talking about in makes me feel hungry... 'blood orange' was yummy as too, if I do say so myself!

Ohh ohh! Pick me! I know!
Ruth: Yes, 'aloe' as in aloe vera. If I had to describe it, I'd have to say that it's HEAVEN-FLAVOURED with a hint of WONDERFUL and a splash of DEAR GOD LET ME HAVE IT AGAIN.
Tash: You neglected to mention 'blood orange', which was probably my second favourite.
Smiles from Istanbul,
Simon :)
