Hunting Blind by Paddy Richardson
I could not put this book down! I love books about gory murders, abuse and pyscopaths, sick I know. But I love the drama!!!
This book follows the life of Stephanie, Who as a child was always told to watch her little sister Gemma while her mother was 'busy'... One day when Gemma is only 4 she goes missing at a family picnic. She is never found.
Not knowing what happened to Gemma haunts the entire family, ripping them apart and causing all their realtionships to be strained.
Stephanie grows up never being able to shake the guilt and chooses a career in psychiatry - She can treat others but never turn the spotlight on her own issues. While treating a women named Elizabeth, Stephanie finds there are some very spooky similarities - Elizabeth's little sister went missing when she was younger too.
And even more amazingly, it sounds like there is a man who was in both of their lives around the same time... Could he be responsible for hurting or taking both the little girls? Could there be more?
Stephanie becomes obessed with finding this man, and solving the mystery of what happened to Gemma once and for all. It consumes her and she puts her job on hold and travels the South Island searching for him.
It dragged a little near the end of the book, Where Stephanie gets a love interest, and I was wanting her to just get back to the trail for Gemma's killer! :)
But it comes to a head at the end and I was pretty happy with the outcome - This is a must read slynkey girls!!!
