Introducing MRS Beecroft!
Well, we did it! The wedding was on Saturday and it was absolutely wonderful and I am now officially a MRS!
The last week has been crammed full of a fun hens' weekend away in Hanmer Springs with my girls followed by lots of last minute organising, which in the end all paid off. Everything went off without a hitch, the sun was shining despite a rainy weather forecast all week, and my husband and I had an amazing day celebrating with friends and family.
And while a wedding is all about pledging your love for the person you've fallen head over heels for, it also gives you the opportunity to really appreciate how amazing your friends and family are. Without my Mum, Nana, new Mum in law and my beautiful bridesmaids I may have never made it down the aisle. Okay, I probably would have made it - but I may not have been as calm, collected and well put together as I was!
My best friend, oldest friend and new sister did an amazing job, not only organising the best hens' night ever, but staying with me the night before for lots of nibbles and giggles, helping create bouquets, organising our walking down the aisle music in the final hour when my CD burner crapped itself and sent me into mild hysterics, making us an amazing breakfast the morning of the wedding to ensure I ate, and helping me look (if I do say so myself) pretty damn stunning.
They never once complained about the multitude of photos they were needed for under the hot sun while all the other guests got to christen the bar, and even joined me on the at first empty d-floor for a boogie to encourage everyone else to dance to our amazing band XLR8. To you girls, I love you SO much, and my wedding would not have been the same without you.
Just as everyone said it would, the day went super quick and now hubby and I are settling into married life and heading off shortly for a brief trip away. The one thing I absolutely can't wait to see are all the photos from the day. Our talented, creative and utterly fabulous photographer Amanda Haynes (shout out!!) and her photog husband Eric did a beautiful job making us two slightly nervous, mildly overwhelmed newlyweds look relaxed and amazing, and went completely above and beyond the call of duty to get some fantastic shots.
Which means when we're old and wrinkled and celebrating our 50th anniversary we'll be able to look back and remember how smoking hot we both looked when we began our married lives ;)
