I'm Baaaaaack

Hello ladies! I’m sorry it’s been so long since we last caught up for a gossip... are we still friends?

See, last time I blogged I was boasting about being about to jet off to Aussie for a holiday.

I know I promised to blog about my escapades, but I guess I overestimated my ability to tear myself away from the ‘party posse’ and haul my butt down to the local internet cafe (okay, in the end I didn’t even really research where these were anyway).

Highlight of the trip? Well, we went to the State of Origin game, which was pretty incredible in terms of being surrounded by more than 50,000 other fans, but I think one of the favourite things Mr Wonderful and I did together was going on a whale watching excursion with Whales of Paradise.

I’d never been whale watching in NZ before, and I have to admit I was a little hesitant when I woke up to find it raining outside on the morning we were supposed to be heading out to sea, but it was a truly amazing experience. We had dolphins swimming and playing right up alongside the boat, and got some awesome photos of the whales leaping out of the water.

It was such a great trip, but now I’m back. Although if we’re playing the honesty game, I have to admit I’ve actually been back in NZ for a couple of weeks now...

Turns out I’ve actually found it pretty hard to get back in to the swing of things after 11 days of nothing but eating nibbles and barbeque food and drinking cocktails (duty free shopping is amazing) and shopping and sitting in the sun and going out...

I’ve even extended my ‘technoliday’ until... well, pretty much this moment. I’ve only checked my email a handful of times since being back, as opposed to almost constantly being online usually, and I haven’t Tweeted since before I went away... which you’ll know is a huge deal for me.

The funny thing is I haven’t even really missed it. It’s funny how technology can seem to become such an all-consuming thing in your everyday life, but once you’re forced to take a break from it for a while it’s actually hugely refreshing.

Speaking of refreshing, I have to depart for now to spruce myself up, paint on a face and pour myself into something a little stunning for the Girls Night Out party tonight! So exciting!!

Now to find something pink to wear...
