air travel slynkey style
I recently flew between NZ & OZ, and as I had booked my flights last minute, had paid a lot for the return flight. I hadn't taken any notice of the details of the flights apart from times...
It turned out that I had booked a 'meal & movie' flight back on Air NZ, and well, I have to say, omg it was the best flight ever!!! For years and years I have always booked flights when I get a sale email, or have always gone for the cheapest flights, which of course are the 'budget/ no frills' flights.
To be honest I had almost forgotten that not all flights are like that! I am used to having to pay for any food or drinks, missing out on dvd players unless your seat is at the front, being squashed in a small seat, being cold and not being offered even a blanket.
So I was in shock when I sat down on my Air NZ flight, and had room to stretch out and started flicking through the screens on my very own touch screen - heaps of movies (new releases), music, podcasts, books on tape, flight details and games were on offer - I was loving it!
The meal was delicious fish'n'chips and Kapati icecream (or I could have gone with a beef & mushroom pie which looked good too). I could have as many drinks (alcoholic and non) as I wanted and the good 'ol Air NZ lollies were handed out by 2 children near the end of the flight too.
The flight went sooooo much quicker than others I've done recently of the same length, and I felt so much better at the end of it - I think I am converted! Unfortunatly I already have 2 sets of flights booked later in the year which are cheapies, But I had to book some others and paid the extra and went luxury - I really think it is worth it!
Maybe I'm just being wierd but I really had forgotten flying could be so enjoyable!
Happy flying slynkey girls - whichever way you go!
