No more excuses!
Let's be honest, We can all make excuses when it comes to sexual health and using condoms.
Here are some common excuses you may hear yourself (or your partner) saying - And how to overcome them!
"It doesn't feel as good when we use condoms"
With all the new features, lubes and toys you can buy now, some condoms can actually make sex feel better for both of you! There is sooooo many different types, sizes and flavours available out there, There is no way you couldn't find something to suit everyone. And think about it, An nasty STI feels a lot worse!
"It's embarrassing to buy or carry condoms"
If you're or you're partner is too embarrassed to deal with condoms, how are you going to cope if you get pregnant or an STI?. It's a lot more embarrassing to talk to and be tested by a health professional about a suspected STI. And imagine having to ring past partners if you suspect you may have passed something to them - cringe!. Safe sex is nothing to be embarrassed about in this day & age and compared to these scenarios is a breeze!
"Neither of us have a condom with us"
Wherever you are there will be a Garage, Dairy or even vending machine in a toilet. What about your flat mates, siblings or housemates? Even a friends house you could pop to to borrow one? Wherever you are, be honest - there is always a condom not far away! Or to make sure this never happens, Put condoms in your car, wallet, bedroom and bathroom! Don't leave it up to the guy to take care of- It's
"We've already done it without one before & nothing bad happened"
Be smart and don't repeat that mistake. Have you actually had a STI test since that unprotected sex? In fact, how do you know you don't have something? STI's often don't present any symptoms so either of you could have one and be passing it on.
"I'm on the pill, we don't need a condom too"
That's got nothing to do with catching an STI. FACT: The Pill protects from pregnancy, but not from STIs we don't even know if we have.
"You can't get pregnant if you're having your period, So we don't need to use anything"
FALSE. Getting pregnant the ovulation cycles are a very complicated thing. Sperm can hang around inside you and impregnante you at a later date, and people have been known to get pregnant while having what they thought was a period.
"Just this one time without a condom won't hurt"
Once is all it takes to get an STI or get pregnant (if you aren't using any other contraception like the pill or the injection). You have all heard those horror stories of people getting pregnant or and STI the very first time they have sex. If you don't take precautions, you are spinning a lucky dip wheel every time, Don't take the risk!
"I'll pull out before I come"
The 'pulling out' method is not reliable as contraception and offers no protection against STIs slynkey girls - you can still get pregnant or catch something nasty from pre-ejaculation fluid.
There is always a way to be safe from STIs and avoid unwanted pregnancy slynkey girls! No excuses!
