Keeping on track has never been easier than going out to your local walking tracks and taking in the fresh air and scenery that your city has reserved for you!
En Forme Fitness Studio here in Christchurch is located near to many of the wonderful tracks that can really give our clients and yourselves an exciting and interesting challenge. Our Fitness Professionals ensure a safe journey and a challenging one.
Why stay indoors while the summer is still lingering? Save that indoor session for a rainy day
or when you have little time to spare.
Here are a few of our City, Christchurch's great tracks. Fun for the individual, the family or a couple of mates wanting to catch up on a bit of gossip.
South - North New Brighton Surf club
Start at either South or North New Brighton Surf Clubs and walk/run along the Sand Dunes. Time yourself and then try and beat that previous time in the next week.
Barnett Park and Cave
Start at the Sumner Surf Club walk/run back to Barnett Park in Redcliffs. Walk/run through the park and up the walkway to the cave. Return on the opposite side of the valley back thru the park to the Surf Club. Average times: Running 30-45mins or Walking 50min-1.20hr
Rapaki Track
Start at the corner of Rapaki Rd and Centaurus Rd. Walk/run to the top of Rapaki Rd where it meets the Summit Rd. Turn around and walk/run back down to the bottom. Average times: Running 40-50mins or Walk ing1hr - 1.20hr.
Godley Head Circuit
Start at Taylors Mistake car park. Walk/run along the Godley Head walkway and up to Godley Head. Follow the track along the Summit Rd to Breeze Col. Take the Mountain Bike track back down to Taylors Mistake. Average times: Running 45-55mins or Walking 1hr-1.25hr
Sign of the Kiwi
Start at Princess Margaret Hospital. Walk/run up Hackthorne Rd to the sign of the Takahe. Continue up to Dyers Pass Rd and join the Harry Ell walkway up to the sign of the Kiwi. Walk/run back to the Hospital. Average times: Running 50-60mins or Walking 1.20hr - 1.40hr. (You could also have a shorter version starting at the sign of the Takehe. Average times: Running 30-35mins or Walking 50-1.10hr.)
