Boots

Yes the sun's appearance is less frequent, the wind is picking up and the mornings are darker. But with snuggly nights and the snow season comes another fabulous perk of winter - boots. Oh boots, how I love thee!

There are the staple styles that work every year, but then there are those that pop up every now and then and are right on par with what's happening in fashion right now. I spotted these three styles in Overland while walking down Queen Street, and though I was late, had to pop in to get a better look.
 
First is the 'Dune'. It's a little bit '90's and that's what makes them so awesome. The laces and buckle combo makes them an extremely interesting and unique boot that can be both casual and dressy. With tights or skinny-leg jeans these would look amazing, and are perfect for that ever-stylish boho look.
 
The second is a more classic boot, the 'Idol'. With its rounded toe, wooden heel and height, it has the perfect recipe for a classic, timeless boot that you can pull out for many winters to come. The soft leather and solid heel means it is a comfy yet very stylish style, that can easily go from day to night. Whether with dresses, skirts or pants, this boot is going to make an outfit look that much more chic.

The third is the 'Talbot'. This is the one that got me into the store in the first place. I absoloutely love them. The slouch and rounded toe are rarely done well in a short boot, but my god they nailed it here. What's more, the way this boot is made means the more you wear it, the better its going to look. This style is very fashion-forward and the colour availability makes it that much more unique. A refreshing change to a generic winter boot.
 
Basically, there are so many styles out there and so many opportunities to express yourself with your winter boots, it would seem wrong to follow the crowd.
