August and I have a love/hate relationship. On the one hand the weather is still wintery and it’s still about 4 months till proper sun. One the other, it’s sale time. There are sales everywhere, and though I can't really afford another pair of new shoes, I found some nice little numbers for you ladies to peruse - you might be able to buy them even if I can't!

You may think buying boots at this stage is a silly idea, and if they’re boots that scream 2010, then I would agree, but there is nothing silly about buying classic boots for cheap. So here are a couple of items I just found at Mi Piaci…

First we have the ‘Willow’ (pictured top right). Available in Tan and Black, these boots are $290 and $310, for the tan and black respectively down from $380, it’s a good deal. Being mid-calf with a sensible, comfortable heel and shape and a stylish buckle, they are as close as you get to timeless and still chic. Good with dresses, jeans or over tights, I think these would be an investment you could justify.

Taking a slightly different route, we find the ‘Beda’. This shoe is one that everyone should have in their closet. Sexy, comfortable, practical and chic and available in both taupe and black, this kind of shoe is a must-have. I really love the shape of this heel and the rounded toe, both elements are always flattering for the leg. 

Worn casually or dressy, the patent leather takes them from day to night effortlessly. And whether on weekends at work or out at night, these shoes fit the bill. As if you need more reasons, they are $190 down from $220. Just get them.

So whether it’s these options or any others, take advantage of the sales. Remeber some Spring days need boots too!
