The wonder ingredients exposed…

Whether it's a wonder skin cream or a new make up product, we are constantly bombarded by adverts that tell us that by using these products that contain these "wonder ingredients" that our complexion will clear and our skin will look more radiant. But have you ever wondered what they really are and if they actually work?

In the last decade there has been a rise in the revolutionary beauty treatments and procedures available, I don't know about you slynkey girls but when I was younger I was at amiss at what the long-worded ingredients were. To understand what these wonder ingredients are you need to understand that there are two types: man-made and those that come from nature.

Natural and organic beauty products do not have a lot of toxic ingredients in them and because of this they are much kinder to your skin than anything that science has come up with. However, scientific wonder ingredients are developed in labs worldwide and are renowned for their effectiveness.

By knowing what the wonder ingredients are (whether man-made or nature) and their benefits, you will begin to look for products that contain these ingredients and begin to use them correctly within your regular beauty routine.

Some of my favourites include Trilogy skin care (www.trilogyproducts.com) because they contain all natural ingredients that include rosehip oil as well as botanical extracts. Many products contain preservatives, these are important because they prevent the products being contaminated by bacteria. However, you need to be careful and aware that some types of preservatives may have adverse effects. Trilogy products use natural preservatives such as vitamin E so you will always be sure that you are putting something that is nice and natural on your skin. Trilogy products are available from pharmacies and Farmers stores nationwide.

Look for these in your beauty products slynkey girls and you'll finally understand the benefits of these big-worded ingredients!:

  • Alpha hydroxyacids - Great for penetrating the skin helping reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Antioxidants - Important for staying healthy, they can also prevent infections.
  • Botanicals - All the good things from plants that make your skin look and feel fantastic.
  • Peptides - Plump the skin and reduce the effect of wrinkles.

  • Vitamin C - We all know that oranges contain lots of the vitamin but vitamin C has lots of healing properties that can help minimise scaring too.
