Reviewed: Lush Cosmetics

Like all young twenty something slynkey girls I like to try out new products to see if they will do a better job than the product that I currently use. Recently, while traveling through the UK and Europe I ran out of cleanser (those little travel packs hardly ever go the distance) and thought that I'd give Lush Cosmetics a go. I've brought products from them before - usually just bath bombs and soaps - but I can honestly say that their skin care line is great, try some of their products and your skin will feel truly ``lush``.

I tried and tested:

1. Ultrabland Cleanser

I was a bit skeptical when I first saw this product as its name didn't really scream out at me to try it but the Lush assistant assured me that this was their most popular and effective cleanser, so I thought that I'd go with my instincts and take her word on it. The cleanser is effective in getting rid of make up, waterproof mascara and is nice and gentle on your skin. The formula feels quite rich on your skin and at first I was a little concerned that my skin may break out it didn't - I put this down to the mostly natural ingredients in the formula. It contains peanut oil, beeswax, honey, fresh iris extract and rose water among other things. The only problem with this cleanser is it's cost really, I have been using it for about a month and I've only got about a third of a tub left but if you compare the cost of this cleanser with products from the Body Shop, I think you are about right on par. To get the best result from this cleanser I recommend that you remove the cleanser with cotton wool and the toner that you normally use (this also saves time slynkey girls).

2. Herbalism cleanser

Herbalism is a great product for oily or acne prone skin. However, it's not the best cleanser for a number of reasons. The main problem with this cleanser is that you have to mix up the formula yourself with some water to form a paste - and if you are anything like me you won't mind doing this for a while but after a few weeks it becomes slightly annoying. I also found that after using this product a few times that it was not a through cleanser at all and if I am going to invest in a cleanser I want one that does the job properly. Instead of using Herbalism as a cleanser slynkey girls, why not try it as a mask or weekly exfoliant - it may not past the test as a top-notch cleanser but is great as a mask and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth after use.

3. Grease lightening

Don't you just hate it slynkey girls when a pimple pops up on your face out of nowhere and no matter what you do you cannot distract yourself from the fact that it's there. There are a lot of spot treatments out there that claim to instantly get rid of spots but most fail to do so. Grease Lightening is different and actually works and within 48 hours of putting the gel on your spot it will have reduced or in most cases gone all together. It's the combination of tea tree oil and witch hazel, which makes Greased Lightening such a great product. It's not only me that's saying this I got three of my friends to try it while we were traveling and their breakouts were visibly reduced overnight.

Give these products a go today slynkey girls and leave a comment below - I'd love to know what you think!
