Nailing It
I had the privilege of being the first slynkey girl to visit Wrights Nails to get some much-needed and well-overdue pamper time.
Let's be honest, the first thing many of us see are each other's nails - When we pass over our eftpos cards at the counters, shake hands with business associates, and are manovering the steering wheel in the drivers seat.
I'll be the first to admit that I notice a chipped nail faster that you can say "Bob's your uncle.." Unkempt and untidy nails are a big no-no!
Wrights Nails is a little inner-city sanctuary, tucked away across the way from Ballantynes in Cashel Street City Mall. I arrived, and entered the second-story beauty clinic to meet Larissa, one of the wonder women behind the Wrights Nail brand. Larissa greeted me with a big smile, and as we shook hands I couldn't help but notice her oh-so-perfect acrylic tipped fingers. If her's could look that good, then I was in good hands, right?
I waited in the gorgeously decorated waiting room for quite some time for my appointment - these nail techs are very precise artists, and like to get the job done right. So make sure you book your appointment in with lots of time spare, and be ready to go a little over your appointment time if necessary.
While I waited I learned all about Wright's Nail's speciality service - acrylic tips. Wright's Nails imports acrylic tips in from overseas, and stocks many rare tips impossible to find in Christchurch. Some of these include Playboy tips and Gucci 'blings'!Taking my place in the 'hot seat' I had many polishes to select from from a range of palettes. Purple is a self-confessed favourite shade of Larissa's, so naturally the majority of colours available are various purples. It didn't take me long before I decided on my own violet hue, called "When in Rome"!
Larissa executed and showcased precision in applying the polish, and touched up any slips of hand professionally and carefully.
Just as we were finishing, her next appointment had arrived meaning there wasn't enough time as I would have liked to let my polish dry, but all the same my shade looked hot!
Hands down, my favourite thing about the girls at Wright's Nails is the friendliness, kindness and easy going nature they both exude from the minute you enter. You will walk out, a renewed you, with gorgeous nails ready to show the world!
