It's Complicated

Starring some of Hollywood's hottest comedic property, It's Complicated follows the misadventures of a divorced woman grappling with the dating scene and falling into a steamy and exciting affair.

With none other than her ex husband... who is now remarried to the much younger woman he left her for a decade ago.

Starring Alec Baldwin, Meryl Streep and Steve Martin, all the actors have great on-screen chemistry, with Streep playing the leading lady, Baldwin taking on the role of naughty but nice ex-husband, and Martin working his magic as the nice guy architect and potential love interest.

Writer-Director Nancy Meyers film repertoire includes favourites like Something's Gotta Give, The Holiday, and What Women Want. She has a talent for making fluffy love stories targeted at a more mature audience and starring big name stars into box office hits, and It's Complicated is no exception.

With Streep - arguably the greatest actress of her generation - taking the lead, the audience are not only drawn in by her name and bankable, illustrious career of fantastic performances, but also her ability to bring an effortless enthusiasm to her scenes.

As in love with Streep and Baldwin as I am and having seen the trailer I was expecting big things from It's Complicated. But like so many romantic comedies being churned out at the moment, it fell a little short of expectations.

The biggest laughs were too far between, having already been highlighted in the shorts, and the film did seem to drag on just a little.

Despite that and the film being fairly predictable, It's Complicated is likeable and a breezy flick to enjoy when you just want a few uncomplicated giggles. Whether you're rooting for the bad boy or the nice guy, Streep's love-triangle tango is a fun and flirty fling that women of all ages can relate to.

I was lucky enough to win tickts to 'nine' last week, thank you.

I have to say I just loved the movie, great story, costumes, music all brilliant.

However I very much have a live theature back ground and I am not so sure I would have like it if I did not have that back ground.
