Holiday Makeup Tips
Christmas and New Years parties are heaps of fun but how are you going to get that kiss under the mistletoe or on the chime of midnight without looking super fly?
If you look good then you will definitely feel good and when you feel good you exude confidence!
Christmas is the season for indulgence so why not indulge in some really fantastic makeup colours? Don't go overboard and completely replicate the colours of your Christmas tree but some deep red on your lips and dark colours on your eyelids will make you look that extra bit special for that special someone!
Makeup trends this Christmas definitely see the darker shades of red on its way, so investing in a dark and warm red lipstick is the way to go. Many different makeup companies offer great long-stay lipsticks nowadays and it's up to you which makeup brand you like best but the more kissable your lips are the better!
If you want Santa to notice those beautiful blinkers of yours, make sure you go for the smoky and sultry as opposed to panda eyes. This can be easily achieved by applying some charcoal coloured eyeliner on the lid, make sure you don't draw it completely across the line, draw it to just past half way towards the inner eye so you don't completely overkill the look.
Then apply some colour directly onto your eyelids. Earthy tones like brown and green make lighter coloured eyes pop and soft gold/copper tones look great with darker eye colours. Once you have applied the eyeshadow get a lighter coloured shade underneath your lower lashes and complete the look with a black kohl sweep across your lash line.
This season on the catwalk there were some beautifully made up faces, including lots of lovely metallic eye-shadows. With the copious amounts of tinsel and metallic gift wrap that we go through this time of year there is no reason you can't use these colours on your lids as well.
Glitter is always good as long as you don't over-do it. A line of metallic or glittery eye-shadow across the lid of your eye will look nice, If you have smaller eyes avoid using too many dark colours as they will only make your eyes seem smaller. To make your eyes look bigger use pale colours over the entire eye.
If you are going straight to a party after work and you don't have much time, just add some darker colours to your makeup. Ensure that you take some makeup with you everywhere during the holiday season as you never know when you might get invited to a knees up and you want to look great all the time!
